Photography from A to Z - Camille Vivier - William Klein

The European House of Photography (MEP) unveils a rich season focused on several key moments: a major collective exhibition, artist retrospectives, and a spotlight on the new generation. According to Julie Jones, Director of the MEP, this event highlights the evolving diversity of the photographic medium, which is reflected in a plurality of voices and styles.

The flagship exhibition, "Photography in All Its Forms," celebrates the bicentennial of photography through an innovative journey, orchestrated by Clothilde Morette and developed with the Neuflize OBC Collection. It brings together the works of 35 artists, blending prints from this prestigious collection with works from the MEP. Iconic figures such as Nan Goldin, Robert Mapplethorpe, Malick Sidibé, and Sophie Calle are presented alongside contemporary creators. The exhibition is structured like an alphabet, addressing each letter with a distinct theme, for example, "A for Adolescence" and "B for Burgundy" will offer visual reflections on youth and the geographical origins of photography. Other themes such as the body, history, and the social uses of the image are also explored, culminating with engaged themes like "X for Forbidden."

In addition to the group exhibition, the MEP pays tribute to Camille Vivier through a retrospective of her work, known for its distinctive universe combining body-sculptures and surrealist objects. As part of its mission to support the emergence of young artists, the MEP Studio will showcase Winnie Mo Rielly and Martine Dawson, who will present innovative projects at the intersection of photography, sculpture, and performance.

Another highlight is the complete retrospective of William Klein's filmed work, marking the artist's centenary in 2026. Klein, who profoundly influenced photography and cinema through his style and energy, will be celebrated through a collection of his works and an exhibition in the auditorium, highlighting his lasting impact on current generations of photographers.

La Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) dévoile une saison riche axée sur plusieurs moments clés : une exposition collective majeure, des rétrospectives d'artistes et un focus sur la nouvelle génération.
